5月3日晚，中国驻比利时大使曲星离任招待会在大使馆举行。来自比利时和中国各界的人士欢聚一堂，一起为曲星大使送别，并庆祝他即将前往巴黎出任联合国教科文组织副总干事一职。
到会嘉宾包括：曲星大使夫人、中国驻苏黎世兼驻列支敦士登公国总领事高燕平，比利时联邦众议院议长布拉克，中国驻欧盟使团团长张明大使及夫人蔡潇丽，比利时农业及社会融合部部长Denis Ducarme，比利时国务大臣弗拉奥，部分国家驻比利时大使，比利时部分省市的行政长官和旅比华侨华人。
曲星大使在发言中回忆了自己刚刚赴比利时上任时的情景，并对目前中比两国在经济、文化、政治等多方面的交流做出了总结。他说，中比之间的交流越发密切，许多中资企业在比利时进行投资，其中不乏各类高科技企业。他对中比关系在未来的发展感到十分乐观。他还表示，比利时人是伟大、友好、善良、开放和有教养民族。他们愿意与他人相互理解，遇到问题时，总是乐意寻找互惠双赢的解决办法。
随后，曲星大使用中文发表了演说，他代表使馆，向中国的同胞表示衷心的感谢，并表示“你们的勤奋、你们的情怀、你们的淳朴给我留下了深刻的印象，我将永远记得你们“。
比利时联邦议会议长Siegfried Bracke的发言则包含深情，他首先高度赞扬了曲星大使在比利时期间为中比两国关系作出的贡献，然后从个人层面表达了对大使的欣赏与敬仰，称二人每次的交流都让他感到愉悦。他们在思想火花上的也碰撞让自己受益匪浅。议长希望曲星大使在新的工作岗位上一切顺利，也别忘了常回布鲁塞尔看看老朋友。
